Chen Law Journal is the only youth-led organization that primarily focuses on student development in legal education and serves as a resource directory for underserved communities in New York.

Chen Law Journal (“Chen & Chen Law Journal”) is a blog-related, law journal created for students, created by students. Founded in 2022, Chen Law Journal is an organization that covers a variety of legal disciplines through journalism writing. Formed during the pandemic, Chen Law Journal came from an idea to support new generations of youth with legal opportunities and experiences. Through trial and error, entrepreneurial conferences, and various funding grants, Chen Law Journal continues to cultivate new partnerships, support, and memberships. Chen Law Journal is a youth-led organization, consisting of post-secondary and secondary students in the United States. Chen Law Journal does not disseminate legal advice nor does it represent clients in any form of legal matter. Nevertheless, Chen Law Journal hopes to share legal education, journalism, and opportunities with students, tenants, consumers, and other interested parties.

As a youth-led, student organization, Chen Law Journal welcomes all audiences to interact with the organization. Along with playing a substantial role in legal journalism and news, Chen Law Journal also consists of large-scale initiatives and other funding-related support for New York City students. As a journalism organization, Chen Law Journal is a non-partisan organization and does not constitute the spread of biased journalism. With a subscription model, Chen Law Journal strives to publish material and other valuable resources on a no-cost basis.

Mission

Chen Law Journal strives to build legal journalism, foster opportunities for prospective students, and educate others in different various fields of law.

Members, readers, and students alike will be able to promote civic engagement and actively serve within their communities. Chen Law Journal was created with the goal of providing youth with the ability to gain insight into the legal fields and laws. Creating an early pipeline to legal education for young students has been a priority for Chen Law Journal.

By promoting legal education and opportunity to fellow youth and students, Chen Law Journal hopes to expand its base and promote future writers and educators in the legal field. In the future, Chen Law Journal will expand on creating resources on 3 various fields of law: New York Education Law, Tenant Law, and Small Claims Proceedings.
