Project
Chen Law Journal strives to bring awareness of the lack of legal education and opportunities in secondary education and in low-income communities in New York.
Chen Law Journal's work includes analyzing current impact litigation, appellate and legislative advocacy, workshop training, and general public education.
These laws the work CLJ focuses on include civil rights in schools, homes, and employment, constitutional and statutory laws, and due process rights.
Chen Law Journal will give students and youth opportunities to experience researching, writing, and publishing their work. For many students interested in law, this project will be the first stepping stone to learning more about the legal field. And in doing so, students will be able to advance their experiences in other activities, internships, jobs, and academic settings.
Students work on Civil Rights issues, and preparing workshops to further expand their knowledge. The organization's project has worked with numerous professors, faculty members, law students, and organizations that share important resources.
Youth Against Discrimination
Youth Against Discrimination is Chen Law Journal's premier initiative in combating discrimination in schools, work and housing through advocacy and legal resources.
Equal Opportunity Organization:
Chen Law Journal is an equal opportunity organization and therefore makes considerations for organizational positions without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
